A more turtle looking Ninja Turtle. My one regret is that I feel that Raph (who is my fav turtle) is rockin' more of a Mikey expression...Raph is more serious than this. Fo sho. If I do any more Turtles art (I'm sure I will) I'll fix this next time.

I've been diggin' drawin beasts lately, using a bargain book from Borders called simply "Animals" as reference. I think it's a national geo. book. Since I'm doing some animal pieces I thought the TMNT makes great subjects.

I tried a similar inking tech. to the last piece I did but this time tried to work in some color n' stuff. It's a pretty different way of working than what I'm used to but I'm having fun with it, 07 was all about no lines and flat colors/shapes for me and 08 (so far) I'm all about the ink and blended tones. I guess that's how we grow, right?

HA! Awesome.

I was thinking about the TNMT yesterday, about how if they were 16 in 1991 when the cartoon was made they would be 33 now. I figured splinter would be either geriatric or dead. Davy Jones would be pushing 50 (have you seen the actor who played him in the move, he was in 'Zodiac' last year. If April and Davy had hooked up back then they would have a teenager of their own. :P

Ninja Tortoise... hehe, cracked me up. Very interesting look at a ninja turtle. He lost his grumpiness and replaced it with a sunny disposition.

this is sweet man. i love that youre putting more emphasis on the line now, and with such great detail. the patterns and textures are really cool
